CNN says that the funny guys get the chicks

There could be some truth to the statement that funny guys are the flavor of choice for most women. A CNN article points out that men who are funny create better friendships with their individual love interest and that they are more likely to ease the stress out of a tough time. Fair points. I tend to agree. But being a funny guy can also backfire on you so if you are in a rut and think that you can crack some jokes to garner some attention, think again.

Funny guys run the risk of crossing the friendship line with no return visa. The funny guy is always counted on to lighten the air and make everyone smile. Eventually, his reputation precedes him so strongly that when he tries to be serious with a girl he is interested in, she thinks that he is joking. Everyone knows a guy like this. I do. He goes to Bama and his name rhymes with Fred.

But not every girl digs the funny guy. Some girls are really into the bad boys. Maybe it is the excitement of unpredictability that does it for them. Or maybe it is that they are not supposed to be into that type and they are showing a rebellious side. Those are definitely the most frustrating girls because they are usually the ones that are the hottest. Everyone has dealt with one in their lifetime.

CNN should do a follow up story on why girls are not into nice guys. Overly nice guys never get the girls. And when they do, they usually blow it because the girl realizes she is dating what seems to be a girl.

Here is the CNN story. Pretty interesting stuff.

How about if they’re nice, bad, AND funny?!? Those type of guys are out there, yano. What I’m wondering is why you posted this in the first place? This is an age old topic. Good writing!
